Mikaela A. Guido represents individual and corporate policyholders in bad faith and insurance coverage litigation. She is admitted to practice in the State of Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Ms. Guido earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2022. She served as Chair of Special Events for the Florida Moot Court Team, was a member of the Florida Journal of International Law, and participated in the Immigration Clinic. She also interned with the ACLU’s National Political Advocacy Department and volunteered with Bay Area Legal Services. Her performance in oral advocacy competitions earned her recognition as Best Advocate in the second round of the 2021 William E. McGee National Civil Rights Moot Court Competition and as a finalist in the 2020 Florida Trial Team 1L Closing Argument Competition.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Political Science with a minor in Psychology from Florida Southern College, graduating magna cum laude in 2019. While there, she served as the founding president of the campus Forensics League, Executive Vice President of the Gamma Gamma chapter of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, and as a teaching assistant for Law and the Courts. She also gained early legal experience working for the Public Defender’s Office for Florida’s 10th Judicial Circuit Court.
Prior to her legal career, Ms. Guido served as National President of a nationwide student political organization. In that capacity, she was the youngest member of the executive leadership of a national political committee and acted as a voting delegate to a presidential nominating convention. She also served as a Field and Public Policy Intern with Equality Florida.
Her academic distinctions include the Dean’s Scholarship at the University of Florida, the Danforth Scholarship at Florida Southern College, and recognition on the Dean’s List across multiple years. She was also the recipient of the Frank Chandler Outstanding Sophomore Award and was named a President’s Scholar in 2017. She is the co-author of “Horse Race Polling,” published in Polling America: An Encyclopedia of Public Opinion, Second Edition.
